Venture Ideas!

Bubble Tea Delivery Service

1. As a teenager myself, I know what it feels like to crave bubble tea of all things at 3AM in the morning.  The sad truth is that there are no 24/7 bubble tea places that deliver!  We would have a menu with all the different flavors of bubble tea on our online website and we would also have fliers.  Our target market would be the teenage asian population in Vancouver.  As we all know, Vancouver is filled with asian teenagers therefore, the demand for bubble tea will be high.  The price of one bubble tea would be $5 with a minimum purchase of $10 (HST and tips not included). We would be using a car for our delivery service for speed.

2. I think this idea/service will work because I know many many people who crave bubble tea late at night.  This would be a perfect service that could satisfy many peoples midnight cravings. This is a pretty easy product to create as long as you know how to blend fruit and powders.  The only problem would be getting the food safe certificate.  The start up cost would not be over $1000 so it is very affordable.

Gardening Service

1. This service is going to be very beneficial to homeowners who want a beautiful yard.  This service being provided includes, raking, shoveling, mowing, trimming, planting and watering.  Our target customers would be anyone owning a lawn!  We would promote our gardening service by delivering fliers to everyone around the neighborhood.

2. This is a good idea/service because many people are too lazy or have no time to attend to their yards/gardens.  This would not be a hard service to provide as long as one knows the basics to gardening.  Most of the tools needed can be found in ones garage so the start-up cost will be considerably low.  The only thing that is needed for this service is time and patience.

  1. I really like both of your venture ideas. They both sound very interesting and good topics to talk about. I really liked the way you briefly described the Start-up Cost and the Target Market for both of your ideas. I love bubble tea so I definitely agree with you for bubble tea delivery available 24/7. This idea would definitely be very profitable for one’s business as there isn’t any bubble tea place that does delivery.
Yes, there are a lot of people out there who don’t have time or are very lazy to clean their lawns and definitely need gardening services. But as far as I know there are some businesses that provide gardening services. It depends on one if they are willing to spend money for it because gardening service business are very rare and the ones that are there are expensive. So I think if the prices go down, people would definitely be willing to pay a little to make their life easier and better.

  2. I like your ideas because they're quite unique and also it will catch costumers' attention. Selling bubble tea will attract a lot of teens with different variety of flavours. Though the price of the bubble tea is expensive, how would it be different from other competitors?

The 2nd idea is also pretty good because people get extremely lazy to mow their own lawn. These services may take a long and some effort, you may not earn a lot if you plan to sell this service at a lower prices than the competitors. This idea tends to be more of a seasonal thing because people are more likey demand services during the summer than any other time of the year. I like how it is a low start up cost business because most of the tool are able to be found at home.

  3. I like the idea of delivering bubble tea. It would be very convenient to teenagers because most of us don't have cars to go get the bubble tea. My one question is why only asians?

The second idea is quite common but is very profitable. Most people pay to make their lawns better than their neighbor's. How much would you be charging per lawn?

  4. I think both of your venture ideas are creative and they would work but with the 24/7 bubble tea delivery service, it'd require people to work graveyard shift and there are only a limited amount of people who are willing to do that. Also, it would be stressful to have to maintain a store for 24hrs a day. With the gardening service, it is a cool idea but gardening is really a seasonal thing. Once it gets really cold, the plants die and there is nothing to garden.

  5. Well the first idea is decent. Starting up a bubble tea place seems like an idea that'll work. Start-up costs could be discussed another time. But 24 hours seems like a bit much as mentioned before that there won't be many that would be willing to work the graveyard shift.

As for the gardening service, it seems like a good idea, especially since it's Spring. Many are going to want their gardens looking rich and vivid at this time of year and this is when gardening comes into play.

  6. i like your idea of the 24/7 bubbletea service because sometimes there are those midnight cravings of a bubbletea drink yet I am left unable to fulfill my needs because no where is open to provide me a cup of bubble tea. It would probably work really well because Vancouver is full of asians and bubbletea is known as an asian drink.

I also like your idea of the gardening service because i know my mom would probably enjoy that very much since she is always too lazy to fix the lawn or the flower decorations around it.

  7. Bubbletea is a very popular drink, and just that will make it a worthwhile business to invest into. However, taking it a step further and having a delivery system will definitely make the business even more successful. Also the product is fairly simple to produce, so this can definitely be a profitable business.

A gardening service is also a good idea. Many people today are lazy and rely alot on technology to solve their problems. Unfortunately, automatic lawnmowing robots do not exist, but the closest we can get to that are other people willing to mow lawns for you, if at a reasonable price. Services like these can always be fairly profitable.

  8. I really like both of your venture idea especially the bubble tea one. It would be good to have delivery for bubble tea because sometimes I’m lazy to walk and get it. Although there is one problem are you going to charge for the delivery fee because even though minimum purchase is $10 does it cover all the other costs?

For the second venture idea it’s true that lots of people are really lazy to garden their yard. I think this will be a profitable idea if you charge it at a low price.

  9. Your first idea is very creative. You can definitely make some profit out of it. One problem that may occur is safety. Some people might not want to open their door at 3AM incase it's a robbery, right?

I like your second idea because I'm one of those people who do not like gardening but would like a beautiful yard. This would be a very successful business.

  10. The first idea is perfect for the school especially since people are too lazy to walk to get themselves bubble tea. Some problems that might arise is the competition drink sin the cafe and vending machines.

The second idea appears to be appealing because who doesn't want a beautiful garden? Some problems that might arise are the distance of people's houses.

  11. I like your idea of having a bubble tea delievery service kind of thing. A lot of people crave it at the randomest times during the day and this would be very convenient. However i think it would be hard to get people who are willing to work that late and wait for orders. Maybe paying per hour would grab people's attention and want to work.

This is a good service to offer! Every season has different lawn problems like during the fall theres leaves, winter theres snow, spring theres flowers and summer it needs to be watered. This is a good idea of having a business that offers a variety services

  12. I really like your first venture idea of an online system for selling bubble tea. There are many things we crave in the middle of the night and bubble tea would be one of them. You would have competition from “Cathys House” because everyone is used to going there and used to their products. Some people like changes and some people don’t. I like your promotion ideas but would wish the prices of the bubble tea to be less pricy. I also like your second idea. It would be really successful if you aimed at the right consumers. Even though it’s not such a big venture it would profit you and those who will be interested in this idea.

  13. The bubble tea delivery serice venture idea is great, but there is one problem: it will take a long time. It will take a long time to buy machines, learn how to make all the different flavours of bubble tea, and then delivery it to the right location before it turns bad at 3am in the morning.

Your second venture idea is more down to Earth; it will profit as long as you are willing to get down and actually do the raking, shoveling, mowing, trimming, planting and watering. Startup costs are low because all the supplies needed you already have somewhere lying in your house.

  14. I ilke your idea of 24/7 bubble tea because i really loves bubble tea. And some times late at night when i want bubble tea, i never get it because i am too lazy to drive to richmond to get it. I think this service is going to be very popular because tennagers are going to like this.

The second idea is also good too becauseI am the person that always jealous of other people's beautiful gardens. However, it will take people a lot of time and effort to decorate their garden. If there is this service in my neighoubouur available and its at an reasonalble price, i would definetely try it.

  15. I really enjoy your initial idea of selling bubble tea 24/7 including delivery. However, how are you going to manage to deliver these bubble teas at a given location at any given time? Do you have a personal car that you drive? Will you have no other activities interfering with all the time you're planning to put into your business? Having a 24/7 delivery service means staying up and being available for those 24 hours of the day. Realistically, is that actually managable? As far as my opinion goes, I think it's a brilliant idea however, it doesn't seem to have a realistic base to function well and earn your business success.

Your second idea however is extremely appealing. Providing Gardening Services will really attract customers and gain you alot of profit. It also has a very low start-up cost associated with it, which will mean a higher profit rate for your business. I was really impressed how you mentioned in your blog the ways you'd advertise your business idea. Advertisement will be the biggest key factor for your business, and if you can manage that well, your Gardening Service business will do extremely well!

  16. It’s funny you mentioned craving bubble tea so late or early in the night or morning depending on how you look at the time but it is something that does happen, that people can relate to. Something to think about though, is if you yourself would be able to get any sleep doing your midnight door to door bubble tea service. Would service hours only be during the weekends or week nights too? Are you going to be hiring someone to help you out or are you going to carry on your bubble tea and service by yourself? Because I know you’re considering making your own bubble tea but that takes time as well as driving them to their purchasers. Another thing, are there certain boundaries where you’d like to contain your services to? What if someone out of your area orders from you?

You’re second venture idea is possible too but what if the client wants new soil to replace from the old one already in their gardens. Are you going to provide the new soil? Would you be able to manage a big garden?

Overall, I really like your bubble tea idea, I’m very curious with how you’re going to carry something like that out (since it’s something new and uncommon) and the gardening venture may be difficult to do. So, good luck with your venture Linda! :)

  17. Loving the first venture idea because I get that craving feeling too and I'm sure many people also feel the same. Only thing I would suggest is that, have people work for you!

For the second venture idea, it's very original so why not try and expand it? Instead of gardening services why not go into helping farmers as a target market or greenhouse plant growing?
